Basically, politics would have been the best undeniable platform for leaders/representatives to demonstrate effective leadership by returning governance to the people where, constituents could be engaged to participate, benefit and share ideas to further boost development and attract government presence closer to the people.
Leadership in the concept of the present federal legislator representing Eket Federal constituency has been subjected to be an avenue of acquiring wealth without recourse to the pains of electorates Social and economic needs.
The shoulders of those who are passionately amazing in their inclination to foster for development, good governance, participatory leadership and people oriented projects as always yearned for and expected by the electorates has been neglected and deprived on assumption of leadership positions.
Analytically, Eket Federal constituency over the years have elected representatives whom either through legislative engagement or philanthropic gestures showcased exemplary leadership traits to symbolize and consolidate on the electoral mandate given them by the people. These, they have been practicing all through their profitable durations as representatives and carrier of the people's mandate in line with the tenet of democracy and mission of the party.
Howbeit, the years of Owodighe Ekpotai; the only federal female legislator from Akwa Ibom State has from the inception following the clandestine political intrigues that played out few hours to her underserved emergence as the party's candidate and subsequent inglorious victory at the poll has reawaken the political consciousness of all progressives in Eket Federal constituency to pull out their drums across the wards and aggressively mobilise against Ekpotai's continued unproductive, ineptitude and failed misrepresentation opting for a change/replacement.
Maybe, Ekpotai, in her lukewarm-like manner has forgotten that the only way to do great work is to love the work you do. But, being that Ekpotai with no basic understanding of Legislative leadership has failed to acknowledge that understanding the people, the terrain and listening to advices may have aided her to have performed minimally.
As the drum of replacement continue to re-echo with different interesting sound beats ahead of forthcoming elections, decision makers and political schemmers have resolved to engage their mechanisms to change the incumbent (Ekpotai) base on her lack of representative capacity and abysmal failure to effectively contribute through legislative engagement to the development of the constituency.
It is upon this fora of resuscitating the lost hope of the constituency that the people of Eket Federal constituency, having reviewed the Governor's blueprint of development and the need for a proactive partnership to make it a success; have decided to opt for a more credible, visible, resourceful, pragmatic and charismatic entity in the person of HON. VINCENT GEORGE; as the appropriate and best replacement to Mma Ekpotai.
The connective incomparable resonance and passion attributed to VINCENT GEORGE; has further endeared the electorates to consider mobilising priceless support to ensure a re-branded legislative representation that will benefit the entire constituency on the exit of Ekpotai.

Conclusively, with no objection to my position, I boldly submit that the process of selecting the preferred choice for the mandate to replace the incumbent legislator representing the federal constituency should reflect the populace choice and should be given maximum democratic principle by allowing fairplay, justice and equity to triumph over mere sentiment and logic in other to avoid a repeat of mandate failure experienced under Mrs. Ekpotai.
