But that was not the design of earth. In Genesis 2 God had to show him by coaching and mentoring how to take responsibility to fulfil his mandate.

First, God had to show Adam the principle of patience, time and seasons which is the hallmark of farming. He made Adam watch and work along as He planted Eden. Please notice that unlike in Genesis 1, God did not speak Eden into existence. He ACTUALLY PLANTED THE TREES AND HERBS. Thus they had to wait and watch them grow in their seasons.

Next, God had to show him the mating process in animals first to awaken a sexual desire and affection that will fuel the passion to fulfil his mandate of being fruitful and multiplying. Until that sexual frustration was experienced by Adam, the manifestation of Eve was not possible.

It came because he first took the responsibility to work with God in planting the Garden of Eden and watching to see the trees grow and bear fruit.

Breaking News: Gunmen abduct 5 RCCG pastors, Pastor Adeboye calls for prayers

Five Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastors were abducted along Ijebu-Ode axis on Thursday August 1, while on their way to the church's Ministers' Conference. 

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, RCCG's General Overseer made the abduction announcement at the Redeemed Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday August 2. He noted that this is the first time such incident will be happening and also called for prayers for the abducted Pastors to regain their freedom. 

“As a father, how do you think I should feel to hear that five of my children have been kidnapped while on their way to attend the Ministers Conference?” he asked.

No court order can stop us from practicing our religion- Shi'ites

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) better known as Shi'ites, have reacted to the court ruling obtained by the Federal government, declaring them as a terrorist group.  Recall that on Friday July 26th, Justice Nkeonye Maha of the Federal High Court in Abuja, proscribed the group, banning their activities across the Federation. The Federal government is expected to gazette the ruling on Monday July 29th.

The proscription followed the bloody clash the Islamic group members had with the police on Monday July 22nd in Abuja. The clash led to the death of a youth Corper serving with Channels TV, Precious Owolabi, a deputy police commissioner Umar Bebel and 10 others.

Reacting to the ruling, the secretary to the academic forum of the movement, Abdullahi Musa, said the Federal government cannot stop the group from practising its religion.

“Everybody is aware of their moves. All they want is to suppress the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) just to please Saudi Arabia. They want to kill Sheik Ibrahim Zakzaky and silence all of us. When they were killing us, they didn’t get any court order. Now, they are talking of court order, does Buhari obey court orders?

I don’t think any court has the right to ban any religious group. Islamic movement in Nigeria is not an organisation registered under the government, it is a religious group. Are they trying to stop us from saying our daily prayers?” 

Do they want to stop us from participating in our Christian neighbour activities? They want to stop us from going to Mecca? The issue is that they have been killing and they want to continue the killings, they should go ahead with their killings, no need to wait for any court. We are practising religion and we will continue to practice our religion, there is no killing or act of intimidation that will stop us from practicing our religion.

The president or the governor of any state cannot force us to adopt their ideology, they want us to succumb to their own ideology and we have said no. This government is killing us because they feel that it this is time for Jihad. They should go ahead with their jihad, when they are through with us they will move to the Christians and other religious bodies. 

You can’t just wake up and say you have proscribed the activities of IMN. It’s like saying you have banned the Catholic Church or any other church. Does that make any sense? Is there any constitution backing that? We are practising religion and we will continue practicing religion they have been killing us and we did not stop practising our religion, they should go ahead because we won’t stop.”

Musa vowed that they will continue to stage a protest until their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, is released.  

“Once they allow Zakzaky out of custody, we will leave the streets. If they release him today, they will not see us on the street tomorrow. “ he said

Reno Omokri dares Literary critic, Ikhide Ikheloa: "Say what you said of the Bible about the Quran and see what would become of you''

Reno Omokri has reacted to the post made by Literary critic, Ikhide Ikheloa, criticizing the bible.

Ikhide in a post he shared on his Facebook page yesterday July 17th, criticized Africans for still believing in the Bible and the 'White man's God.' He opined that the Bible "is a great work of fiction" and "a tool of oppression created by feuding brothers to oppress women, children, and the vulnerable."

Reacting to Ikhide's post, Reno via his Twitter handle, said the literary critic is under the influence of his father, Satan. According to Omokri, Ikhide should say the same things he said about the bible, about the Quaran and see what happens to him.

Shiites protest again on streets of Abuja after clash with police

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) engaged in another protest today in Abuja, days after they clashed with the Nigerian Police at the National Assembly complex. 

Speaking on behalf of the group, spokesperson for the Academic Forum of the group, Abdullahi Musa, said the protest will continue as Shiites members are resolved to ensure their leader Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, is granted freedom.

Rape allegations: Christian Association of Nigeria leaders visit COZA, pledge support for Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has pledged to stand and support the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly COZA, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, who has been accused of rape by wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, Busola, and another anonymous lady.

Recall that Busola granted an interview where she alleged that Fatoyinbo who was her Pastor when she was much younger, raped her in her father's apartment when she was 17 and went on to have sex with her a few other times. The news was greeted with widespread condemnation and even a protest was staged in front of COZA church in Abuja and Lagos. Fatoyinbo was forced to step aside as the Senor Pastor of the Church. He released a statement, denying the allegation and vowing to challenge his accusers in court.

During the church's service yesterday Sunday July 14th, the president of CAN Abuja, Reverend Jonah Samson and CAN President North Central, Reverend Israel Akanji, came visiting where they spoke to the congregation, pledging their support and prayers for Fatoyinbo and COZA church as they face this hard times.

In his speech, Reverend Jonah said CAN is behind Fatoyinbo and COZA as they stand this trying period.

''I assure you that we are with you and we will continue to be with you. We are in support of the church. We are in support of your pastor. We stand by him. and this church will continue to match forward. The I declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against this church in the mighty name of Jesus'' Reverend Jonah said 

On his part, Reverend Akanji in his speech, said Jesus expects his followers to be like the good Samaritan who was there to give help to a wounded soldier and not turn his back on such a soldier. He also pledged his support to Fatoyinbo and COZA, adding that many Christians were praying for them.

Today Devotional : Who Is Jesus?

Matthew 16:13-20

When Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16:15-16). The Lord asks us the same question, though not with audible words. There are many answers, but let’s check Scripture for three overarching truths:

1. Jesus is God the Son—a member of the Trinity. After His baptism, the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and the Father Himself announced, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased” (Matt. 3:17).

2. Christ is the Savior of mankind. When Adam and Eve chose to sin against Jehovah, there was a separation between God and man. In Old Testament times, an animal sacrifice was necessary to atone for the wrong in one’s life. But that was a temporary solution, until Jesus—the perfect sacrifice—atoned once for all sin. He was the only One who could satisfy God’s requirement for a Savior, because He had no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).

3. He is our High Priest. In Old Testament times, a mediator—often a temple priest—interceded between God and man, offering an animal’s blood as atonement for sin. Jesus’ death and resurrection took away the need for such sacrifices. Christ now stands as our intercessor, the bridge between Holy God and sinful man (Heb. 7:25-26).

Who do you believe Jesus is? These characteristics of Christ are taken directly from the Bible. Do they align with your understanding? Check your view of Him against the standard of Scripture. Then ask the Lord to reveal Himself so that you can know Him accurately and personally.

Pastor Oyakhilome: Vote for who has knowledge of business or economy

Ahead of the General elections in Nigeria, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has told Nigerians to vote for who has a knowledge of business or economy.

The Christ Embassy founder who spoke at his church’s monthly communion service on Tuesday, called on Nigerians to be wise and not vote based on ethnic influences.

According to him, Nigerians should ensure they participate in this year’s general elections, and vote for competent leaders.

Pastor Chris who noted that Nigeria needed a government that understands how to make the economy grow, urged Christians to avoid using the candidacy of a ‘born again’ to make their decisions.

”I want to say this to you, and it’s very important. Don’t be guided by ETHNIC influences. Be wise! The elections have something to do with your LIFE & your Future.

”Sometimes people are excited about those they want to bring into office. I don’t know whether they ask themselves the most important question. – Are you going to be happy in 4 years time? Do you like a candidate because he is likable? Or do you want a Candidate because he or his running mate is from your area of the country?

”They are together because of their ethnic origin, but then they decided they are backing a particular party. Its like Hausa’s would support this candidate, the Igbo’s would support this candidate. Christians don’t think like that.

”When it comes to elections, the first thing you think about is about the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST. What would happen to it? Because it is in your hands. Your decision would affect the Gospel. That’s the first thing that should come to your mind. – Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness. That’s priority.

”Now, I don’t in this way mean at all that the candidate that is born again is the right candidate. My knowledge of history have shown me that the Church have suffered most in the hands of supposedly Christians.

”But the guy that generally had the fear of God, and didn’t know anything about being born again, he feared God more and was afraid to do anything against the CHURCH.

”When you have a born again, he was the one that started a regulation against the church. They went into office to do something against the Church, like the church was the problem.

”Don’t use the candidacy of a born again to make a decision. Not at all.

”You need a government that understands how to make the economy grow. Because when you elect people into office they are responsible for managing our corporate wealth.”

”Anybody who has never run a business successfully, who has never led people successfully cannot lead a nation successfully.

”You cannot expect someone who has never manage the economy of an organization to manage the economy of a Nation. It is foolishness to think so.

”All the candidates have records. Don’t use records of what other people said about them. Use records of what the country was like,” he added.

Pastor Convicted After Claiming To Have The Cure For HIV and Aids

A court in Zimbabwe has convicted a popular self-styled prophet of fraud and fined him $700 (£540) for falsely claiming he had a herbal cure for HIV and Aids.

Walter Magaya earlier pleaded guilty to contravening the Medicines Control Act by selling an unapproved drug.

Police arrested him in November, and seized a herbal drug which he said could cure people who had HIV and Aids.

Zimbabwe has the sixth highest HIV prevalence rate in sub-Saharan Africa.

About 1.3 million people were living with HIV, according to UN data compiled in 2016.

The 35-year-old Magaya is among a group of young, brash and flashy religious figures who have emerged during Zimbabwe’s economic crisis, attracting a huge number of followers with promises of miracle healing and miracle money, says the BBC’s Shingai Nyoka in the capital, Harare.

He told his congregation in October that the drug, named Aguma, had magical powers to destroy the AIDS virus within 14 days, the privately owned New Zimbabwe reported at the time.

“The herb is 100% organic. Why I say so is because we found out that there are no side effects,” he was quoted as saying.

The government branded his claim as criminal, and police raided his offices.

The charge sheet said that just before the search, Magaya and others “destroyed some of the exhibits by flushing them in the office toilets and burning containers which were, however, recovered half-burnt”.

“Several Aguma sachets and other torn sachets were also recovered in an office bin,” the charge sheet added.

The pastor’s lawyer, Everson Chatambudza, told the court that Magaya believed the drug was authentic but admitted breaching the law by distributing it without the health ministry’s approval, the state-run Herald newspaper reported.

Magaya attempted to comply with the law by notifying the ministry of the drug, but he did not get any response, Mr Chatambudza was quoted as saying.

Magaya had also launched a lipstick last year which he claimed could improve blood pressure.

How Adeboye’s Prayers Saved Me – Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed what may have saved him and his team from being hurt after their chopper crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi State during the weekend.

The Vice President and the entire crew, however, came out unhurt.

Osinbajo who was in church to do thanksgiving revealed that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye prayed especially him before his accident on Saturday.

In a thanksgiving message he gave during a service organized on his behalf by Mr. Adeboye, the official said the church leader appeared to have seen a vision of a possible impending danger during the said prayer session.

His statement as delivered by his media assistant, Laolu Akande, read:

“On Friday, we went to (RCCG) camp; usually, I attend our Holy Ghost service. We came in very late from Akwa Ibom State. We arrived just in time for the grace at the end of the service. After that, our daddy in the Lord, (G.O) Pastor Adeboye, wanted to speak to me.

”He asked me how things were going on, the campaign activities and all that, and I explained everything; what I was doing on the campaign trail and all of that, some of the challenges. He (Adeboye) then said I am going to pray for you. He said a prayer that turned out to be very interesting because usually, as you know, he doesn’t pray for long.

“He said “Lord God Almighty, I want you to protect this man. You know how very dear he is to my heart. I want you to protect him. I found it very funny that he repeated it several times and then he prayed for favour and other things.

“So, when the crash happened, immediately it dawned on me that the Lord God had led him to say that very special prayer. And the Lord God Almighty delivered us by His word that ‘even when 10,000 fall by our side, no harm whatsoever, will come near us’.”

Mr. Osinbajo thanked God for the gift of life and reeled out the names of those on the flight crew with him.

“They are Labour Minister, Stephen Ocheni; & Mr Femi Osinbajo, my elder brother; Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser and Ambassador Abdullahi Gwary, SSA Foreign Affairs/Protocol.

“Others are Mr Laolu Akande, my spokesman; Dr Biodun Adelowo, my physician; MrDoyin Adetuberu, security officer; and Ayoola Oladunni, (ADC) and others.”
