Breaking News: Snoopy lunar module from 1969 Apollo 10 mission may have been found

The Apollo 10 lunar module, nicknamed 'Snoopy', is seen during the mission in May 1969

A team say they are "98% certain" they have pinpointed its location, defying odds of 235 million to one to locate it.

The famous lunar module from the Apollo 10 mission is believed to have been found - 50 years after it was released into space.

Named Snoopy after the cartoon dog, the four metre wide module was believed to have been lost forever after the 1969 mission.

It was used as a test run for the Apollo 11 lunar landing, which took place two months after Apollo 10, in July 1969.

Two of the three astronauts transferred into it, reaching an altitude of 50,000ft above the surface of the Moon, before going back to the command module.

After demonstrating the docking manoeuvre, Snoopy was shot off into 900 million kilometres of space.

Nick Howes, a fellow at the Royal Astronomical Society, said he is "98% convinced" he and his team have found it.

But until someone goes and retrieves it "we can't be 100% sure".

Stones thrown at actors from passing car in 'homophobic hate crime'

Rotterdam is touring the country after a run in the West End

One of the actors says the "cowardly attack" came from "aggressive ignorance" and happened "because we were embracing".

Stones were thrown at two actors from a passing car in what is being described as a "homophobic hate crime".

The "cowardly attack" happened "because we were embracing", one of the actors said.

A stone struck one of them in the face during "aggressive ignorance from strangers to other strangers".

It led to the play they were appearing in - Rotterdam at the NST Campus theatre in Southampton - being cancelled on Saturday.

The actors were "hugely shaken" by what happened, a statement on the production's Twitter account said.

In a series of tweets, producers said the actors had been "assaulted on their way to work".

They added: "The assailants verbally abused them and threw stones from their car window, one of which struck an actor in the face.

Nun claims Katy Perry has 'blood on her hands' over property deal after death of fellow sister

Katy Perry was engaged a lengthy property dispute with two nuns

A nun who was engaged in a property dispute with pop star Katy Perry has said the singer has "blood on her hands".

Rita Callanan's best friend Catherine Rose Holzman, a fellow nun, collapsed and died as they prepared to face Perry's legal team in a Los Angeles Court in March 2018.

Sister Callanan, 81, told the New York Post that Sister Holzman's last words were: "Katy Perry. Please stop."

She added that Perry had "blood on her hands" over the 89-year-old's death.

The two nuns were challenging the singer's attempted purchase of a former Los Angeles convent.

Perry agreed to buy the eight-acre property and its Roman villa-style buildings from the Los Angeles archdiocese for $14.5m ($10.4m) in 2015.

The deal failed when its former residents objected.
