Changan Motors unveils premium CS75 SUV line-up

Changan Motors Nigeria, has introduced one of its most celebrated sport utility vehicles (SUV), the CS75, reaffirming the accomplishment of the brand, which was officially introduced three years ago.
Riding on the heels of the CS35, the Changan brand may have finally come to stay, having won the confidence of SUV enthusiasts in Nigeria.
Head, Sales and Marketing, Changan Motors Nigeria, Vijay Sengar, who gave this hint at a media preview of the vehicle in Lagos, said the company is delighted that the brand has validated the quality, aesthetics and sturdiness of Changan line of automobiles, barely three years after it was introduced in Nigeria.
Sengar said the vehicle is assembled in Nigeria by Nigerians, adding that the CS75 is competitively priced to dare segment leaders including B-segment SUVs – Hyundai Tucson, GS4, Nissan Qashqai and the likes.
Nicely and aggressively designed, the Changan CS75 crossover demonstrates the aura of an imposing SUV with the trappings of opulence, set apart by ample room, comfort, smooth ride, useful kits and striking ambience.
Manufactured by Changan Automobile, one of China’s leading automobile manufacturers, with extensive investment in advanced research and innovative technologies, the Changan CS75 brings to bare the company’s 157-year experience in manufacturing.
The urban-styled and functionally imbued CS75, no doubt, stands head-to-shoulder with renowned marquees, wielding a characteristically front-end and chunky single-slat grille that assertively profiles the company’s name to effortlessly grab the attention of vehicle enthusiasts.
The rear end of this SUV similarly gets a distinguishing tailgate spoiler and a diffuser that exhibits a sporty character; incorporating Light Emitting Diodes (LED) taillights with brushed aluminum trim on the front and rear bumpers as well as agreeable chrome-plated elements and electroplated exterior trim pieces.
There is though a hint of the Range Rover, its Chinese makers are quick to say: “It is our aspiration to become a global top-10 manufacturer within five years,” and they don’t seem to be leaving any stone unturned to accomplish this objective.
Exhaustive profile
Hop into this 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine SUV and you will be amazed how Changan had mated the 58 litres fuel-tank capacity aspirated turbocharged Blue Core powertrain to an AISIN 6-speed automatic transmission, which churns out 130 horsepower and 230Nm of torque at 220rpm in an estimated fuel-efficiency of 8.1 litres per 100km.
Quite unlike Chinese engineered automobiles, the CS75 demonstrates unprecedented finesse in its well-built interior, using acoustics and padded materials on the door cards to numb road noise, while also ensuring the fit and finish is of a high standard.
This is in addition to the all wrapped in leather seats with nice stiches, a multifunctional leather steering wheel (that fits perfectly in the hand), which both add visual flair that makes the car very attractive and comfortable.
The front/rear visibility is also excellent with ample headroom and superbly built thin B-pillars that forestall hassles of looking over the left or right shoulders in other to get a proper view, suffice to say, the overall sensation you get from the cabin is akin to a premium SUV.
Also noticeable is the superbly designed dash with intuitively clear 3.5-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), nestled between two analogue dials with an effortlessly accessible gauge cluster.
The CS75 also ensures driving comfort with a relaxing driver’s space elevated above the world outside with a 2,700mm wheel-base, that guarantees infinite view of the horizon.
Cooling the large five-seat cabin is done within seconds – thanks to the intuitively styled air-conditional system.
Striking Features
Other eye-catching features include blind-spot monitoring, keyless entry, push button start, trunk soft curtain, intelligent visible parking assist system, comprehensive six-airbag and very light multifunctional electric power steering, which makes getting in and out of tight spots an easy task.
Couple with these attractions are electronic stability control, front fog lamps, shark-fin antenna, panoramic electronic sunroof, leather seats, electronic parking brake (with auto-hold function) and rear parking sensors with a pretty sharp reversing camera.
Others are remote control system, built-in hard disk music player, iPod music play, ISOFIX, six-speaker audio system (with USB and AUX), rear a/c vent, in-call Bluetooth, 225 / 65 / R17 wheel and tyre assembly and an anti-theft alarm system.
Safety
The CS75 body is made of high strength steel with four-wheel disc brake system equipped with Bosch ninth ABS and BAS as well as energy absorbing steering column. These are in addition to cruise control, six parking sensor and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Currently rated one of the safest SUVs in China, the Changan maker of the CS75 said the vehicle recently scored 59 points out of 62 available in the Chinese-New Car Assessment Programme (C-NCAP.) C-NCAP is a strict and comprehensive evaluation aimed at reducing harm and loss in traffic accidents.
Verdict
The ride is soft and it soaks up all road imperfections with ease – thanks to the Macpherson struts suspension in the front and multi-link independent apparatus at the rear.
Merging with faster-moving traffic is a cinch with the CS75, and it boasts of a very smooth, quiet and refined performance while on the move.
Test drivers say the CS75 has lots of premium sensation comparable to racing cars especially when viewed against its sturdy suspension system and nicely seamed seats, using fine visible threads.
Custodian
Assembled, serviced and marketed by Stallion Motors Limited, the CS75 is available in Changan Motors’ Nigeria accredited showrooms across the country.

Police arrest Lagos schoolteacher for allegedly forcing 18-year-old pupil to perform oral sex for marks

Police arrest Lagos schoolteacher for forcing 18-year-old pupil to perform oral sex

The Lagos State Police Command has captured an educator of Fazir-I-Omar Senior High School in Iwaya, Yaba territory of the state for purportedly constraining a 18-year-old student, Mary (not genuine name), to perform oral sex on him for imprints.

The improvement pursued The PUNCH's report distributed on March 27, 2019. The report had point by point how the educator, who shows Mathematics in the school, purportedly pressurized Mary to give him oral sex twice and further requested sex in return for imprints.

Mary, an Abia State indigene who resides in the Makoko area of Lagos, had narrated to our reporter how she was first forced to give her teacher oral sex at the age of 16 when she was in Senior Secondary School 1.
The victim, now in SSS 2, explained that on two different occasions, she succumbed to pressure and gave the teacher oral sex.
She alleged that the teacher further demanded sex if she ever wanted to graduate from the school with her classmates, but she refused.
Speaking with our reporter on Friday, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the teacher had been arrested. Elkana identified the suspect as one Akintunde Ajayi, 39.
He said, “The teacher’s name is Akintunde Ajayi and he is 39. I must commend The PUNCH for the detailed report because the information provided therein has helped us.
“We moved into action when we read it. We have the said teacher in custody and we are making efforts to find out whether there are other victims in the school apart from the girl that raised the alarm.”
Elkana added that the police was working with other stakeholders to conduct in-depth investigations into the matter.
Meanwhile, a non-governmental organisation which campaigns against sexual abuse and violence on women, Jewels Hive Initiative, has called on the Lagos State Ministry of Education, the police and other authorities to ensure that justice prevailed in Mary’s situation.
JHI’s founder, Mrs Oluwatoyin Falaiye, said the organisation had rehabilitated the victim and would provide further assistance to her and her family.
Falaiye also demanded the Lagos State Ministry of Education to re-enroll the victim in another school in the state for her to be healed of her trauma.
She said, “We have ensured that the victim is getting some help and counsel. We have taken her to a safe place for counselling and therapy. She, her mother and siblings live in a dingy one-bedroomed apartment and we strongly feel that they are not safe because she is already being shamed and stigmatised.
“We will do our best to raise some money to get them a befitting apartment and we demand that the Lagos State Government should ensure that the victim is safely re-enrolled in another school and that her molester be made to face the full wrath of the law.”

Innoson “Takes Over” Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank)

Cornel Osigwe, Head of Corporate Communications, Innoson Group says Innocent Chukwuma has taken over control of Guaranty Trust Bank following a Writ of Fifa issued by Federal High Court, Awka.
In a statement issued Friday, March 29, 2019, Osigwe disclosed that GTBank’s refusal to pay a loan of N2.4 Billion to Innoson with a 22% interest per annum in 2014, snowballed into a huge debt of N8.7 Billion in 2019.
Read full statement below.
The Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma, OFR has through a Writ of FiFa taken over Guaranty Trust Bank PLC for and on behalf of Innoson Nigeria Ltd as a result of the Bank’s indebtedness to Innoson Nigeria Ltd.
In a landmark decision on February 27th 2019, the Supreme Court of Nigeria dismissed GTB’s appeal – SC. 694/2014- against the judgment of Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division.
The Court of Appeal, Ibadan division had in its decision of 6th February 2014 dismissed GTB’s appeal against the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division. Thus, the Court of Appeal affirmed the judgment of the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division which ordered GTB by way of Garnishee order absolute – to pay N2.4 Billion to Innoson with a 22% interest, per annum, on the judgment sum until the final liquidation of the judgment debt.
Rather than obey the judgment of the Court of Appeal, GTB approached the Supreme Court to challenge the Court of Appeal’s decision.
However in a ruling delivered by Honourable Olabode Rhodes-Vivour JSC on Wednesday, February 27th 2019, the Lord Justices of the Supreme Court (JSC) dismissed GTB’s appeal and thus affirmed the concurrent judgment of both the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division which ordered GTB by way of Garnishee order absolute – to pay N2.4 Billion to Innoson with a 22% interest, per annum, on the judgment until the final liquidation of the judgment. The Judgment debt of N2.4B has an accrued interest as at today of about N6,717,909,849.96 which results to about N8.8 Billion.

Today Devotional : Who Is Jesus?

When Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16:15-16). The Lord asks us the same question, though not with audible words. There are many answers, but let’s check Scripture for three overarching truths:
1. Jesus is God the Son—a member of the Trinity. After His baptism, the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and the Father Himself announced, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased” (Matt. 3:17).
2. Christ is the Savior of mankind. When Adam and Eve chose to sin against Jehovah, there was a separation between God and man. In Old Testament times, an animal sacrifice was necessary to atone for the wrong in one’s life. But that was a temporary solution, until Jesus—the perfect sacrifice—atoned once for all sin. He was the only One who could satisfy God’s requirement for a Savior, because He had no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).
3. He is our High Priest. In Old Testament times, a mediator—often a temple priest—interceded between God and man, offering an animal’s blood as atonement for sin. Jesus’ death and resurrection took away the need for such sacrifices. Christ now stands as our intercessor, the bridge between Holy God and sinful man (Heb. 7:25-26).
Who do you believe Jesus is? These characteristics of Christ are taken directly from the Bible. Do they align with your understanding? Check your view of Him against the standard of Scripture. Then ask the Lord to reveal Himself so that you can know Him accurately and personally.

Ladies' Day: Nigerian ladies commitments to freedom

Today is International Women Day, multi-day committed to the freedom of ladies, and by expansion, the liberation of all humankind from separation and constraint. Its recognition depends on the 1910 movement by German freedom contender, Clara Zetkin, at the Second International Conference of Working Women. The 2019 Women's Day concurs with the 90th Anniversary of the best ladies revolt in African history, the 1929 Aba Women Uprising which the British colonialists looked to stigmatize by formally alluding to it as a 'revolt'.

England had initiated its last dominate and colonization of what is today, Nigeria with its 1851 intrusion of Lagos under the appearance of ceasing the slave exchange. After ten years, it formally colonized Lagos. In 1897, Britain attacked one of the biggest realms in African history, the Benin Empire, torched Benin City and plundered its fortunes. In 1903, it overran the biggest urban areas in the North: Kano, Yola, Hadejia and the Sokoto Caliphate. In 1914, it amalgamated the Lagos Crown Colony, the Southern and Northern Protectorates and named it the Niger Area (Nigeria). With that it was sure it had vanquished the whole nation and conquer all opposition. In any case, obstruction against expansionism originated from the most surprising source: ladies!

The British colonialists had made courts and Warrant Chiefs without counseling the colonized. The Chiefs who consigned the customary rulers and seniors to the foundation, likewise governed as pilgrim overlords steadfast just to the British. In April 1927, the colonialists started executing the Native Revenue (Amendment) Ordinance. The tax collection of men in Eastern Nigeria started in 1928 without opposition. Be that as it may, on October 14, 1929, Captain J. Cook, an Assistant District Officer in the Oloko Area, started an itemized enumeration everything being equal, spouses, kids, and animals in every family clearly so as to extend the duty base.

Clara Zetkin in moving the movement for the International Women's Day had contended: "When the men are quiet, it is our obligation to raise our voices for the benefit of our beliefs". That was what occurred. At the point when the enumerator got to the compound of Ojim, one of his spouses, Nwanyeruwa, an older local medical caretaker, opposed and connected with the enumerator sent by Warrant Chief Okougbo in a physical battle. She at that point raced to a gathering of ladies that was holding to advise them about the occurrence. The ladies walked on the place of the Warrant Chief and requested his top which was the image of his power. Conflicts happened with his staff and hirelings.

On November 25, ladies from different towns and towns walked into Oloko to set the attack on the Warrant Chief's compound. To turn away an uprising, the colonialists relinquished Okougbo by attempting him for harming a portion of the ladies. On December 4, 1929, he was sentenced and the British Colonial District Officer, DO, sent the Warrant Chief's top to the ladies. As opposed to soothe them, the ladies proclaimed Ogu Umunwanyi (Igbo) or Ekong Iban (Ibibio) which signified 'Ladies War' on all Warrant Chiefs and the colonialists. Inside days, ladies had torched 16 courts and sent some of the British DOs and Warrant Chiefs escaping.

The ladies moved from their underlying requests of no tax assessment for themselves, to no installment of duty by even guys, end of the Warrant Chief framework and of imperialism itself. They requested that: " All the White men ought to go to their nation so the land around there might stay as it was numerous years prior before the appearance of the Whiteman". The Oloko ladies who started the uprising chose three moderately aged ladies: Nwannedie, Ikonnia and Nwugo, who were never again bearing youngsters, as their spokespersons or pioneers. Different towns received this.

Ladies in different towns sent assignments to Mrs. Nwanyeruwa Ojim who had set off the uprising. She let them know not to plunder, yet focus on catching the tops of the boss. She gave every designation, a letter of 'specialist' written in Igbo which read: "Nwanyeruwa of Oloko legitimate … said ladies won't make good on government obligation till the world finishes… that Chiefs were not to exist any longer and that was the voice of the considerable number of ladies". The uprising delivered numerous bold chiefs like Mary Onumaere from Nguru who on December 14, 1929 drove somewhere in the range of three thousand ladies to take a stab at entering the city of Owerri.

As the uprising spread through the Ibibio, Igbo, Ogoni, Opobo, Bonny and Andoni ladies, the British sent in equipped troops to face the for all intents and purposes unarmed ladies. In the conflicts, 55 ladies were murdered and 50 harmed. At that point the British started a savage post-war constraint of the ladies mostly to frighten off more ladies, particularly in the extensive towns like Onitsha and Ogoja joining, yet in addition to discourage the men joining the ladies. Recognized ladies were rebuffed for their jobs in the uprising. For example, Nnete Nma who drove the ladies of Obohie, close Azumini was condemned to two years detainment. The British were stressed that as opposed to be cowed, the ladies even in thrashing, were making requests.

In 1947, a comparative challenge happened in Abeokuta driven by the more than 200,000-part Abeokuta Women's Union. They requested a conclusion to ladies tax assessment and its supplanting with expense paid by ostracize organizations. They additionally requested ladies incorporation in the Native Authority administration and the abandonment of the customary ruler, Oba Ladipo Ademola, whom they blamed for being authoritarian, star provincial and degenerate. The challenges went on until 1949, preceding the ladies won their requests.

Today, while Nigerian ladies remain the foundation of our cores family, farming and casual economy, and invest wholeheartedly in advancing our way of life, including haircut and dressing, there is a strand that botches decline with advancement or Women Liberation. While American ladies during the 1960s copied the bra to challenge sexism and separation, there are today, Nigerian ladies who go braless for no justifiable reason. While in our customary society, ladies seeming half stripped in the avenues is the most grounded dissent workable for which even rulers were ousted, today some go about half exposed as a twisted feeling of style.

In invalidation of our solid feeling of womanhood, it may not be difficult to meet a Nigerian woman with faded skin, false hair, false eye lashes, false finger nails, false toe nails, braless and without underwear as a women's activist proclamation. In all actuality, these are not in encouragement of the Women Liberation which incorporates lifting society by battling sexual orientation separation, abuse and the oppression of ladies to prejudicial or unsafe social, religious, political and financial practices. The International Women's Day and Women Liberation is to urge the Woman to stay remaining notwithstanding all chances similarly as 15-year-old Leah Sharibu stood, even in imprisonment, against the wickedness of the Boko Haram.

Definition Of Fens

A fen is one of the primary sorts of wetland, the others being verdant bogs, forested bogs, and peaty swamps. Alongside swamps, fens are a sort of soil. Fens are minerotrophic peatlands, typically encouraged by mineral-rich surface water or groundwater.

They are described by their unmistakable water science, which is pH nonpartisan or soluble, with moderately high broken up mineral dimensions yet couple of other plant supplements. They are normally overwhelmed by grasses and sedges, and ordinarily have dark colored greeneries as a rule including Scorpidium or Drepanocladus.

Fens as often as possible have a high assorted variety of other plant species including meat eating plants, for example, Pinguicula.

They may likewise happen along expansive lakes and waterways where regular changes in water level keep up wet soils with couple of woody plants. The conveyance of individual types of fen plants is frequently firmly associated with water routines and supplement fixations.

Fens have a trademark set of plant species, which in some cases give the best markers of natural conditions. For instance, fen pointer species in New York State incorporate Carex flava, Cladium mariscoides, Potentilla fruticosa, Pogonia ophioglossoides and Parnassia glauca.

Definition Of Marsh

A marsh is a wetland that is ruled by herbaceous instead of woody plant species. Bogs can regularly be found at the edges of lakes and streams, where they structure a change between the oceanic and earthbound biological communities. They are regularly ruled by grasses, surges or reeds. On the off chance that woody plants are available they will in general be low-developing bushes. This type of vegetation is the thing that separates bogs from different kinds of wetland, for example, swamps, which are ruled by trees, and mires, which are wetlands that have collected stores of acidic peat.

Marshes provide a habitat for many species of plants, animals, and insects that have adapted to living in flooded conditions. The plants must be able to survive in wet mud with low oxygen levels. Many of these plants therefore have aerenchyma, channels within the stem that allow air to move from the leaves into the rooting zone. Marsh plants also tend to have rhizomes for underground storage and reproduction. Familiar examples include cattails, sedges, papyrus and sawgrass. Aquatic animals, from fish to salamanders, are generally able to live with a low amount of oxygen in the water. Some can obtain oxygen from the air instead, while others can live indefinitely in conditions of low oxygen. Marshes provide habitats for many kinds of invertebrates, fish, amphibians, waterfowl and aquatic mammals. Marshes have extremely high levels of biological production, some of the highest in the world, and therefore are important in supporting fisheries.Marshes also improve water quality by acting as a sink to filter pollutants and sediment from the water that flows through them. Marshes (and other wetlands) are able to absorb water during periods of heavy rainfall and slowly release it into waterways and therefore reduce the magnitude of flooding. The pH in marshes tends to be neutral to alkaline, as opposed to bogs, where peat accumulates under more acid conditions.

Pastor Oyakhilome: Vote for who has knowledge of business or economy

Vote for who has knowledge of business or economy – Pastor Oyakhilome

Ahead of the General elections in Nigeria, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has told Nigerians to vote for who has a knowledge of business or economy.

The Christ Embassy founder who spoke at his church’s monthly communion service on Tuesday, called on Nigerians to be wise and not vote based on ethnic influences.
According to him, Nigerians should ensure they participate in this year’s general elections, and vote for competent leaders.
Pastor Chris who noted that Nigeria needed a government that understands how to make the economy grow, urged Christians to avoid using the candidacy of a ‘born again’ to make their decisions.
”I want to say this to you, and it’s very important. Don’t be guided by ETHNIC influences. Be wise! The elections have something to do with your LIFE & your Future.
”Sometimes people are excited about those they want to bring into office. I don’t know whether they ask themselves the most important question. – Are you going to be happy in 4 years time? Do you like a candidate because he is likable? Or do you want a Candidate because he or his running mate is from your area of the country?
”They are together because of their ethnic origin, but then they decided they are backing a particular party. Its like Hausa’s would support this candidate, the Igbo’s would support this candidate. Christians don’t think like that.
”When it comes to elections, the first thing you think about is about the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST. What would happen to it? Because it is in your hands. Your decision would affect the Gospel. That’s the first thing that should come to your mind. – Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness. That’s priority.
”Now, I don’t in this way mean at all that the candidate that is born again is the right candidate. My knowledge of history have shown me that the Church have suffered most in the hands of supposedly Christians.
”But the guy that generally had the fear of God, and didn’t know anything about being born again, he feared God more and was afraid to do anything against the CHURCH.
”When you have a born again, he was the one that started a regulation against the church. They went into office to do something against the Church, like the church was the problem.
”Don’t use the candidacy of a born again to make a decision. Not at all.
”You need a government that understands how to make the economy grow. Because when you elect people into office they are responsible for managing our corporate wealth.”
”Anybody who has never run a business successfully, who has never led people successfully cannot lead a nation successfully.
”You cannot expect someone who has never manage the economy of an organization to manage the economy of a Nation. It is foolishness to think so.

”All the candidates have records. Don’t use records of what other people said about them. Use records of what the country was like,” he added.

About 1.3 million people were living with HIV, according to UN data compiled in 2016.
The 35-year-old Magaya is among a group of young, brash and flashy religious figures who have emerged during Zimbabwe’s economic crisis, attracting a huge number of followers with promises of miracle healing and miracle money, says the BBC’s Shingai Nyoka in the capital, Harare.
He told his congregation in October that the drug, named Aguma, had magical powers to destroy the AIDS virus within 14 days, the privately owned New Zimbabwe reported at the time.
“The herb is 100% organic. Why I say so is because we found out that there are no side effects,” he was quoted as saying.
The government branded his claim as criminal, and police raided his offices.
The charge sheet said that just before the search, Magaya and others “destroyed some of the exhibits by flushing them in the office toilets and burning containers which were, however, recovered half-burnt”.
“Several Aguma sachets and other torn sachets were also recovered in an office bin,” the charge sheet added.
The pastor’s lawyer, Everson Chatambudza, told the court that Magaya believed the drug was authentic but admitted breaching the law by distributing it without the health ministry’s approval, the state-run Herald newspaper reported.
Magaya attempted to comply with the law by notifying the ministry of the drug, but he did not get any response, Mr Chatambudza was quoted as saying.

Magaya had also launched a lipstick last year which he claimed could improve blood pressure.

Many Escape Death As 'Substandard' Scoreboard Of Newly-Commissioned Stephen Keshi Stadium Collapses

According to SaharaReporters, the residents of the popular Nnebisi and commuters plying the road narrowly escaped death on Monday, after the electric scoreboard at the newly commissioned Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State, collapsed.
Staff of the Sports Commission headed by Tony Okowa, younger brother of Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, who witnessed the collapse of the electric scoreboard at about 7pm, told SaharaReporters that the scoreboard collapsed as a result of a heavy wind.
Members of staff, including others who came for training at the stadium, were seen scampering for safety.
A staff who witnessed the incident, but preferred not to be named, said: "So many people would have been dead by now if an event was going on in the stadium. The collapsed scoreboard fell on top of some buildings used as restaurants, where people normally eat at night.
"I witnessed the collapse of the electric scoreboard and I thank God that it did not fall towards the main road or on houses around the stadium. I weep for Delta State and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, as he has a penchant for awarding contracts running into millions of Naira to incompetent persons.
"Don't forget that this was how a water tank collapsed during the 21st African Senior Athletics Championships, tagged 'Asaba 2018', which saw thousands of athletes and spectators escape death. Because Governor Okowa was in so much of a hurry to host the championship when all necessary things had not been put in place, I can confirm to you that all the materials used in the stadium are substandard. Okowa is losing it seriously. He is busy procuring media awards from media houses across board in Nigeria.
"The stadium was a multi-billion-naira contract awarded to Solomon Ogba, a former President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and LOC chairman, 'Asaba 2018' but could not be done to a standard. All what the Governor does is to use contracts to do ‘saraka’ for his stooge and cronies. Okowa government na padi padi and food-for-the-boys government.”
Our correspondent reliably learnt that the scoreboard was uprooted from its base by the wind and collapsed into structures, damaging some parts of the stadium.
At the time of filing in this report, the area has been condoned off, while an iron roof and other properties severely destroyed by the collapsed scoreboard at the road side have been covered up with tarpaulin. Visitors have also been restricted from entering the premises, which also houses the commission.
