Egypt Football Association president Hani Abu Ridah has insisted that injured Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah will be included in their squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The 25-year-old was forced out of the Reds Champions League 3-1 defeat after sustaining a shoulder injury in the game. Although, earlier reports claim the former Chelsea star is doubtful for the global showpiece, the country’s FA boss is confident the forward be back for their first Group A game against Uruguay on June 15.
Salah only played about 30 minutes in his side’s defeat to the eventual champions Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday night, so he was unable to increase his 44 goal-tally last term. According to Ridah, the medical team of the Pharos will continue to coordinate with Liverpool in a bid to offer the forward the best possible treatment which will help him recover faster than expected. He believes Salah should be back early enough to face Uruguay just one day after the competition kickoff in the middle of next month.
