Chelsea were crowned the kings of Europe for the first time in their entire career when they came back from one goal down to beat Bayern Munich 5-3 on penalties at the Allianz Arena in 2012.
Both sides played a 1-1 draw after normal regulation period and were also unable to secure the winning goal at extra time.
But the Blues weren’t going to repeat the mistake they made in the 2008 edition after captain John Terry gifted Manchester United the cup losing the last spot kick.
Meanwhile, the Stamford Bridge outfit were two-time UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1971 and 1998 – a club football competition contested annually by the most recent winners of all European domestic cup competitions.
The cup is one of the many inter-European club competitions that have been organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
They have also won six Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, among several others in their trophy cabinet.
However, the club was established on March 10, 1905, by a few gentlemen, who met at The Rising Sun pub at the Fulham road.
