As the Spice Girls reunite for their first tour shows in 11 years, Sky News' arts and entertainment reporter Gemma Peplow takes a nostalgic trip through Spice World.
In July 1996, five women who would soon become known as Baby, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Posh burst to the top of the charts with Wannabe, the song that urged the world to zig-a-zig-ah while shouting proudly about the virtues of female friendship and empowerment.
Wannabe stayed at number one in the UK for seven weeks before going on to top the charts in dozens of countries around the world, including the US. It became the biggest-selling single ever by a girl group, paving the way for eight more UK number one singles and global domination.

Despite being one of the biggest and most recognisable UK acts of the 1990s, the Spice Girls were only active as a five-piece for a short space of time, with Ginger Spice Geri announcing her departure in May 1998, less than two years after their first chart success, leaving Victoria, Emma and Mels B and C to continue as a foursome.
In the time they were together, girl power took over the world.
Now, 25 years after they formed in 1994, the Spice Girls are back: Ginger, Sporty, Scary and Baby (no Posh this time, sadly), are on tour once again.
As fans get ready to embrace girl power, here's a look back at the history of the Spice Girls, from their first rehearsals to pinching Prince Charles's bum; Spice World, the Olympics reunion and of course, Geri's famous Union Jack dress.
