YOUNG TABLE SHAKERS WITH INDELIBLE FOOT PRINT by Ukpono Etuk

Globally, history has made us to understand that various forms of traceable societal development we witness around us is/are at some point ushered either by individuals, Government or none Governmental organisations aimed at positively affecting the status quo of a given need, transforming same from a worse to a better state. such comes in various forms, may be infrastructure or service centred/humanitarian with global benchmark as it goal.



In our discourse, the focus shall be centered on the African continent were young impactors have been selected to buttress the subject matter, xraying their various contributions towards humanity and Nation likewise that of Nigeria were we have showcased a vivacious and indefatigable young man in person of Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke who have so far made an indelible foot print in the sands of time not just in his home Country but across the Continent who recently took part in International Election monitoring that gave birth to election victory of a one time foot ball star under a free and fair contest.




First lets bare the activities of Christopher Ategeka, A Ugandan National who is the founder and COE of Riders for lives, a company that provides mobile healthcare to rural communities in Kampala. The mobile health units are fitted with a pharmacy, a general practitioner and a lab for conducting tests for diseases such as malaria and HIV. The idea for the company came as a result of the demise of Ategeka's brother due to lack of access to adequate healthcare when he fell ill.
Ategeka has a master's degree in mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, also has several awards under his belt for his works on riders for lives including the US. President's Engineering plan for AIDS relief (PEPFAIR award and the Judith Lee Stronach award. He also made it on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for his work with the company in 2014.




Another young catalyst we shall consider is Senai Wonderufal, a twenty eight years old entrepreneur  from Addis Ababa who founded feed Green Ethiopia, which is a spice and coffee production company. He noticed that there was a demand from the Ethiopian diaspora for spices such as shilo and Berbere and for traditional Ethiopian coffee. His company opened it doors in 2011, exporting Ethiopia produce to diaspora communities in the US. and Europe.




The feed green Ethiopia has since expanded to new markets across Africa, and it is fully staffed by Women as its way of providing job opportunities for Women who are often excluded from the job market. Wonderufal is motivated by seeing development and poverty eradication in his home Country.




In Botswana, we have Lebogang Maruapula who is the regional ambassador for girls rising; an International movement which brings awareness on equal opportunities for girls as well as the co-founder of the Goddess foundation, which focuses on women empowerment for young women through mentorship and Education. Driven by a passion to positively influence her Country thereby make meaningful impact, Maruapula cofounded the Goddess foundation in 2011, which has since served in meeting young women and hosted the Goddess sanity pad driven to provide feminine personal care products to underdeveloped girls.




Maruapula is passionate about Countries and social development, She is also a United Nations online volunteer as well as an activist at UNICEF Pacific's young meda. She was a fellow at the Mandela Washington fellowship for young African leaders and a World Economic forum Global shaper in 2014.




Kalivee Levitanisce is a South African copywriter, blogger and cofounder of the successful philanthropic initiative, the street store. Levitan cofounded the Street store which is a popular clothing store for the homeless, with her colleague, max pazak in 2014. The initiative is stocked by donations and is now an open source initiative that allows other philanthropist from South Africa and abroad to host their own pop-up store in collaboration with a charity of their choice. Over 200 popup stores have been setup globally and over 200,000 homeless people have been assisted with clothing. She has also worked on other philanthropic projects, including work with Dementia SA and the Women's Hope.




Here in Nigeria we have a dynamic young man by name Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke, born on the 16th March 1978 in the South South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Barr. Luke is a legal luminary, an alumnus of Harvard Business School, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, an associate fellow of the Nigerian Leadership Initiative (NLI).




Barr. Onofiok is widely called the "speaking speaker" based on his leadership excellence disposition and impactful legislative engagement in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly as the speaker. Barr. Luke is a man of great charisma and dogma, an amiable and philanthropic leader, a lawmaker of no lean value who have served for two terms in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, presently the Speaker whose paramount area of interest is human capacity development, job creation, human empowerment, infrastructural revolution and Nation building.
Driven by such passion, the "Mentorship hub initiative" founded by him was designed to help develop young talents in Nigeria also to help them achieve their potentials in various fields of human endeavour, coupled with a wide range of humanitarian services and social welfare scheme which thousands have benefited with tremendous impact in the society.
As an erudite and people oriented lawmaker, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke has the bellow bills to his credit:
"the law to provide for the establishment of the Akwa Ibom State HIV/AIDS control agency, functions of the agency, and for connected matters,"

 " the law to protect the physically challenged from all forms of discrimination and to provide for equal opportunities for every person"

"the law to provide for the safety of employees in construction companies and Industries in Akwa Ibom State"

"the law to amend the magistrate court laws 2000 and for matters connected therewith"

Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Luke having meritoriously served his people as a Student union leader, an Aide to the Governor, a two termed State Lawmaker and the present Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, have been unanimously endorsed by the people of his Federal Constituency in his home Country to effectively represent them at the lower chamber in the National Assembly come 2019 during the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria. ©G3
