Like the Ibom international Airport which is the only in the Country to be owned, maintained and funded entirely by the state government, Akwa United seems to be the only team in Nigeria to be discussed on the floor of the state executive council.

While it's no longer news that this team has produced many moments of brilliance and jaw hanging performances with Two FA Cups (AITEO CUP) as a testimonial to that claim, this photograph which is absolutely easy on the eye, gracious for the sight and a delight to onlookers, speaks tonnes of the massive investment of Governor Udom Emmanuel in sports; precipitating them as an illuminary of the Nation's Football subsector.
