Sometimes we take life too serious, like world cup, like elections in Africa, like a do or die affair, making us ignore little things in life, and yet those little things are actually the big things in life.
You need to know that life is a mixture of good and bad; it takes a little pain and hurt to appreciate smiles.
Failing an exams, losing elections, getting disappointed or fired, being rejected or ignored are all part of life’s journey. These events don't happen to break you, its just like a car changing gears, the car might move a bit backward before going forward.
The end of love is not the end of life; it should be the beginning of understanding, that love leaves for a reason, but also leaves you a lesson.
It all depends on how you take it. There will always be hell in the word hello, good in goodbye, over in a lover, end in friend, ex in next and if in life. You are not ugly as you think or as people say; you are neither horrible nor a leftover; you are not without talent.
Just close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible. Now open your eyes; that's who you are. Let go of any part of you that doesn't believe it.
Your happiness will always depend upon the quality of your thoughts. What you input gives you the result you get. Your self-worth is based on your opinion of yourself, how you validate yourself; how you accept yourself.
You might not be someone's first choice today, but you are certainly a great choice, someone's only choice. You might not be rich today, but you are valuable, priceless. Never pretend to be who you are not. You are best being you. No matter how bad an original is, it’s always better than a counterfeit.
You might not be so proud of something you did in the past, but you should be proud of who you are today, because you live in the present not the past. You may not be prefect but the truth is, you don't need to be.
Even if your own parents reject you, God will not. God still loves you and that is amazing. The Bible says, “My father and mother may abandon me, but the Lord will take care of me” - Psalm 27:10 (TEV).
Remember its not God's purpose to see you sad, depressed or defeated; that is Satan’s desire and what makes him happy. So the next time any thought whispers to you that, you are fat, ugly, too tall or short, know that it’s not God’s voice and just reply: "At least I have a body".
No matter the challenges life throws at you, never stop trying. You only fail when you stop.
In conclusion "Let Him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you" - 1 Peter 5:7 (TLB).
