The Peoples Democratic Party had its convention on Saturday, August 12 with hope of returning to power in 2019.

Former governor of Akwa Ibom, Goodswill Akpabio, said top members of the APC were begging him to bring them to the PDP.

He said the doors of the PDP are now open to receive such defecting members.

Former governor of Akwa Ibom, Goodswill Akpabio, has revealed that some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have decided to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Daily Independent reports that Akpabio, the current minority leader of the Senate, said the members are begging him to help them come to the PDP.

Akpabio, who spoke at the PDP comvention held in Abuja on Saturday, August 12, said some of the APC members have met with him secretly for this reason.
