The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have lost support of one of the key groups in the South-South region of Nigeria.

The group known as the South-South Legacy Forum has dissociated itself from the agitations of Biafra.

They urged all Ijaw people to behave responsibly in the affairs of Nigeria A pressure group, the South-South Legacy Forum, on Wednesday, August 30 dissociated itself from the agitations of Biafra led by IPOB.

In a statement sent to journalists in Abuja, the group's coordinator, Comrade Frank Ogbotobo called on the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) to avoid statements or actions that would associate the image of the struggle of the Ijaw with the hate campaign of IPOB and its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The statement noted that the motives of the two groups did not share the same values, adding that it is not a wise move for Ijaw groups to fraternize with IPOB.
