Kalu said he suspected Sholape was having a love affair with another man.
He said he had earlier promised to propose marriage to her in front of his mother shortly before her death.
The Nigerian Air Force personnel, Bernard Kalu, who was dismissed and convicted for killing his lover, an Air Woman identified as Oladipupo Sholape, has given an insight on his reason for committing the crime.
Kalu in his statement told the general court marshal that he did not know when he killed Sholape.
The statement was read out by MA Umoh, a flight lieutenant after Kalu's conviction.
Kalu said he had suspected his late girlfriend was having a love affair with another man even after he promised to propose marriage to her before his mother.
