Following a petition written by former first lady, Patience Jonathan, the House of Representatives has threatened to issue a bench warrant for the arrest of the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.
According to the New Telegraph, the House is threatening to take such action following Magu’s failure to honour the invitation extended to him by the Committee on Public Petitions, over Mrs. Jonathan’s petition.
The former first lady had petitioned the lower legislative chamber over the freezing of her accounts by the anti-corruption agency, and what she described as ‘harassment’ by the agency.
