Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor has accused politicians in southeast of cowardice

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, says southeast politicians failed to support the demands of IPOB because of their selfish interests.

He also claimed that politicians from the region, especially the state governors, sided with the Nigerian government on the proscription of IPOB because of their cowardice.

The lawyer said this during an interview with Sahara Reporters on Wednesday, October 4.

He insisted that governors in the region have no power to proscribe IPOB. “Southeast governors have no power to say IPOB is a terrorist and that is very certain.

I condemned it, and they’ve withdrawn it saying they never at any point say that. What they said is a political statement to obtain favor from the federal government.”
