The 40-day ultimatum to capture Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram sect, dead or alive has been extended
The ultimatum has elapsed and the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, requested for an extension.
The extension was approved by army chief, Tukur Buratai, with no specified period of extension The 40-day deadline given to the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, to capture the leader of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, dead or alive has been extended. Attahiru requested for an extension at the expiration of the 40-day deadline.
Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, who is the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army said in a statement on Friday, September 1, that the extension was approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, though the period of extension was not specified.
