» Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Manchester United should downplay their hopes in the current Champions League campaign
The former Red Devil has watched his club’s dominance fall off a cliff in the last four years after the retirement of former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, but United seems to be gradually clinging back to their glory days with a return back to Europe’s elite competition.
United brushed Switzerland champions Basel aside in their first group game a week ago and take on CSKA Moscow on Wednesday night in Russia.
Ferdinand 38, is happy to see his former club back in the Champions League, but believes the Red Devils might be too realistic about their chances in the tournament.
"I think it’s wise for United to be humble when it comes to the Champions League,"said Ferdinand on BT Sport.
