Ronaldo scored the second of the game in the 51th minute via the penalty spot after a handball by defender Lago. Sergio Ramos scored an overhead kick from close range for Los Blancos third.
Marcelo's cross was headed back by Gareth Bale for the defender to deal with. Meanwhile in the other group H game, Tottenham Hotspurs secured a 3 - 1 win over German giants Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs took the lead through Heung Son-Min gave Mauricio Pochettino's team the lead in the fourth minute with a deft shot from a tight angle on the left.
