Plateau state has been relatively peaceful in the last few months - But crisis reared its ugly head again in Bassa local government of the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged stakeholders not to allow the latest incident destroy the progress made so far in achieving peace in the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the recent killing of persons, especially women and children in a night attack on Ancha village in Bassa local government area of Plateau state.

In a statement sent to journalists on Saturday, September 9 by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, the president described the killings as 'senseless.'

Buhari expressed disappointment at the disruption of peace in the state, urging stakeholders not to allow the incident destroy the progress made so far.
