With the defeat, D’tigers have failed to defend the trophy they won in 2015 on same ground.
Captain Ike Diogu finished the game with double digits which was not enough to lead the D’tigers to victory.
Nigeria won the first quarter 14-8 but narrowly went behind in the second quarter as Tunisia took a 25-24 lead into the break.
The turning point of the game came in the third quarter as Ziyed Chennoufi hit a three-pointer followed by a layup to give Tunisia their biggest lead of the game of 44-30.
The host won the third quarter 52-40, making it very difficult to get back into the game.
