The Super Eagles had the chance to win the match in Yaounde on Monday.

But Nigeria conceded a penalty at the death for the match to end up 1-1 African champions Cameroon on Monday, September 4, 2017 came from a goal down to force the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in Yaounde. 

The Super Eagles had a glorious chance to win the encounter which would have given them the ticket for the 2018 World Cup, but they conceded a penalty at the death. 

Cameroon started the match in front of their fans with aggressive minds after losing the first leg tie 4-0 against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo. 

But they met a more determined Super Eagles who really taught them a good football lessons in front of their faithfuls. 

Nigeria went ahead in the 30th minutes when Chelsea striker Victor Moses combined well with Odion Ighalo to set up Gent forward Moses Simon who wasted no time to score. 

Cameroon labored in the first half to get the equalizer, but Super Eagles goalie Ezenwa denied them on numerous occasions as they went to the break with the visitors leading. 

The hosts came out stronger in the second half, and they almost got their goal in the 50th minutes when Olinga Fabrice fired a powerful shot which was well saved by Ezenwa.
