Jonathan said by indicting him of corruption, it means that the former governors, who are now in the All Progressives Congress (APC), are corrupt.
Jonathan specifically called out former Governor George Akume of Benue state, who is a senator on the platform of the APC, as well as the ruling party’s current spokesperson.
Jonathan, who reacted through his aide, Reno Omokri, in a lengthy article, said it was disheartening that the APC could accuse him of corruption by standing truth on its head. “We remind the APC that former President Jonathan once truthfully declared that he has no accounts or property abroad.
“There is a Freedom of Information Act signed into law by Dr Jonathan and I urge Bolaji Abdullahi and those who pull his puppet strings to take advantage of it in verifying that assertion,” Jonathan’s statement posted on his social media wall said.
