Former governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) might not have won the 2015 presidential election if it had not fielded President Muhammadu Buhari.
Daniel, in an interview with New Telegraph, said that because President Buhari had participated in election for almost a decade, he had been able to cultivate a cult followership, mostly in the north.
The ex-governor, while speaking on why PDP lost in 2015, said: "As a result of his consistent participation in the election for almost a decade and half; Buhari had cultivated a cult followership, largely in the North and some other locations.
"I am not particularly sure that if APC had fielded another person that is not Buhari, they would have won the election.
