Proving her power on the Internet knows no bounds,Kim Kardashian has just secured a gig keynoting the #BlogHer16 conference in Los Angeles on Aug. 5. Kardashian, who also goes by her married name Kim Kardashian West, will discuss how she became one of the world’s most recognizable women and a pop-culture phenomenon as well as what drives her as an entrepreneur who has built a vast, diversified empire of technology- and fashion-focused businesses. Perhaps most importantly, she will share how she has sustained and expanded her influence in an often fickle media landscape.
While she’s still embroiled in the Taylor Swift-Kanye West fued, where she placed herself squarely in the middle when she leaked footage of her husband making a phone call to Swift on Snapchat, Kardashian is also juggling a legal battle with her sisters to extricate themselves from the Kardashian Beauty business. That, on top of her normal day-to-day as wife of a hip-hop superstar and mother to young daughter North and son Saint.
While her presence should prove a major draw at the three-day conference taking place the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live, there will also be another keynote by actress and entrepreneur Sarah Michelle Gellar and speakers including Eva Smith, Kelley Skoloda, Anne Hogan, Courtney Nichols Gould, Maria Ribas and Erika Nicole Kendall. Topics include “Mind Your Business: Own Your Expertise,” “Podcasting vs. Vlogging Smackdown: Which Is Right for You If You Can Only Do One?” “Publishing & Writing Behind the Curtain: Blog to Book From the Publisher’s Point of View” and “Heart & Soul: Keeping Friends During a Heated Political Season.”
No doubt Kardashian could weigh in on any of those topics and more, but her appearance fees and packed schedule probably prohibit her from spending the entire day there. Among her other plans this summer are filming season 13 of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and touring with Kayne West while toting their children along.
