If there's one thing we love, it's a gorgeous man who knows his fashion. Throw in talent and philanthropy, and you have a triple threat in Jesse Metcalfe, star of TNT's Dallas. Metcalfe took in the BCBGMaxAzria show on Thursday with his girlfriend, Reunion actress Cara Santana (ELLE.com can exclusively report that contrary to several inaccurate media reports, Santana is Metcalfe's girlfriend, not fiancée.)
Along with Metcalfe and Santana, Heidi Klum, Estelle, Jamie Chung, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos, also watched the cascade of flowing print dresses, as Max Azria reimagined the black/white trend with splashes of beige for it's 25th anniversary.
We spoke with Metcalfe (who also starred in John Tucker Must Die and Desperate Housewives) about Katie Holmes, Marc Jacobs and why he likes NYFW:
What did you think of BCBGMaxAzria's collection?
It was very light, airy, youthful. It had a good energy. I also loved the music.
What music are you currently into?
Drake's song "Good Girls Go Bad," is Cara [Santana] and my summer anthem.
What was your first-ever fashion week show?
Funny enough, my first time was BCBG's show in 2005. I sat next to Katie Holmes. We talked; she was very sweet.
What's you game plan for fashion week?
The only men's show I'm attending this week is Marc Jacobs. The others are women's collections. I'm really just here supporting my girlfriend. It's her first fashion week. She's very into fashion and has a unique perspective on it. I think she's going to have a voice in the fashion world: She's starting a blog soon, caradisclothed.com. And she's been getting a lot of attention for what she wears on red carpets. It's fun to see how excited she is.
Any other shows you're attending besides Marc Jacobs?
Hervé Léger, Charlotte Ronson, and Alice + Olivia. We have to duck out of fashion week tonight for 36 hours because I'm hosting a charity event for UNICEF in Houston, Texas, the Audrey Hepburn Society Ball.
Speaking of Texas, what can you tell us about the upcoming season on 'Dallas'?
We start shooting October 2; it'll air in February 2014. I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on the first new script. Things ended with some unrest between my character and Jordana Brewster's, so I'll have to wait to see where that storyline goes. If I knew more, I'd give you a better teaser!
What's it been like for you, playing Christopher Ewing, since Larry Hagman passed?
It was a big transition. His passing actually brought us closer together as a cast. He was the show's heart and soul, so there's a major vacancy. It was most challenging for Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy; they were friends for 30 years. Our writing team had to completely rewrite the second half of the second season; they did a very admirable job.
What's your favorite aspect of fashion week?
New York during fashion week feels like the epicenter of the universe when you're there. There's no cooler, hotter place to be.
