BEYONCE and Adele have emerged as the triumphant nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The former has broken her own record with 11 nominations, while the British singer, who burst back onto the scene in 2015 after a two-year hiatus, has secured eight.
They are both up for the Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and the coveted Video of the Year, while Beyoncé is nominated twice in the Best Choreography category (for Formation and Sorry), as well as for Breakthrough Long-Form Video and Best Collaboration. Adele also picked up a nod for Best Visual Effects.
