John Ogu: Liberia vs Nigeria, Why I will never forget the game by Ukpono Etuk

Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu, is delighted to have captained Gernot Rohr’s men in Tuesday’s international friendly game against Liberia that had President George Weah feature for 79 minutes for the hosts in the encounter.
The game played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex, was arranged in honour of the country’s president and 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year, George Weah.
Everton star, Henry Onyekuru, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, opened scoring for the Eagles and Simeon ‘Simy’ Nwankwo extended the lead for Nigeria before halftime.
Kpah Sherman pulled one back for the hosts from the penalty spot in the second half as the game ended 2-1 in favour of the three times African champions.
Ogu, who currently plays for Hapoel Beer Sheva in the Israeli topflight league, took to his official Twitter page, @Ogujohnugo, to say: “I will never forget this day in my life,” he twitted.
“Leading my country with such wonderful talent in a game against Liberia with President, and the only African player to win the Ballon d’Or”.
Ogu is expected to feature for Sheva when they take on FC Ashdod in an Israeli Premier League clash this weekend.
