However, some churches nowadays go above and beyond during service.
Some prove the power of God by performing miracles others do unthinkable things like telling members to kiss the feet of their pastors.
Another church has done the unthinkable by asking members to come to church with canes that were used to whip the floor in an attempt to chase away evil.
According to Facebook user Nwaku Confidence, members of an unknown church were filmed hitting the floor with canes.
In a video posted by the user, the members were heard chanting "die by fire" as they flogged the floor with the canes during service.
Confidence who could not comprehend the purpose of the exercise shared the video on his page. He alleged that the cane was used to flog out the devil and asked why it was done.
He wrote: “That's how members were asked to come with Koboko (cane) to flog the hell out of the devil...Who did this to us??”
