In a post by Ituen on Facebook, he said he was arrested by Nigerian Police and men of Waste Management for no reason.
"Have just been arrested by the Nigerian Police and the men of the waste management on no course Waste Management Itam , ITU" Ituen posted on Facebook.
Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Manage Law Cap 47, 2000, prohibits disposing of refuse between 6am and 6pm everyday.
Recall that the Board Chairman, Hon Prince Ikim has issued several warnings against such act. Road transporters are advised to have waste baskets in their vehicles while Members of the public have been informed to always bag and dump their Waste at Government approved dump points between 6pm and 6am.
The Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency vows to make all defaulters face full weight of the law.
Pundits who spoke with our reporter, expressed disappointment in the performance of the Waste Management Board as Uyo which used to be clean community is turning into a dirty town.
"Since the evacuation of Waste was handed over to Waste Management board headed by Prince Ikim, Uyo is becoming dirty as refuse lay in wait for evacuation for days. It's very unhealthy for the residents of Uyo" he said.
Our reporter who tried to reach the desk of Waste Management office was not successful.
