The results of high level talks in Washington has seen both China and the US agree that efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula should be “complete, verifiable and irreversible”.
“Both sides reaffirm that they will strive for the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula,” a consensus document released by the official Xinhua news agency said.
Recall two days ago that the United States of America pressured China to pile more economic sanctions on North Korea led by defiant leader Kim Jong Un for its continued missile tests.
The US made the move during high leveled talks in Washington involving Chinese diplomats and defence chiefs with President Donald Trump saying that Chinese efforts to use its leverage with Pyongyang had failed.
Trump said the failure of China to impose more sanctions on Pyongyang is raising fresh doubts about his administration’s strategy for countering the threat from North Korea.
