His inability to pay a N5M bail fee, has kept him behind the walls of the prison for over a year now.
It would be recalled that Seun Egbegbe was re-arraigned alongside his accomplice, Oyekan Ayomide at the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 3, 2017, for the third time.
The duo were accused of defrauding some Bureau De Change operators in different operations involving N39,098,100, $90,000 and £12, 550.
This is coming on the heels of his previous arraignment before Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court in Lagos on 40 counts. They were re-arraigned following the amendment of the charges by the Police.
The Police re-introduced the names of three other persons as defendants in the case. The defendants include Lawal Kareem, Olalekan Yusuf, and Muyideen Shoyombo.
They were all accused of swindling more than 30 Bureau De Change operators in Lagos of various sums between 2015 and 2017.
Seun Egbegbe a filmmaker, was in a relationship with Toyin Aimakhu a few years ago. The relationship, however, ended in a controversial manner.
In a recent interview, Toyin Aimakhu’s ex-husband, Adeniyi Johnson revealed that she was dating Seun Egbegbe while they were still married.
