Mr. Charles Udoh received the commendation from the Commandant, Staff and Students of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Nigeria, who were in the State for a study tour of Akwa Ibom between the 26th of November and 2nd of December 2017.
In a letter of appreciation addressed to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh, signed by Rear Admiral I. O. Mohammed on behalf of the Commandant, the Information Boss was applauded for the erudite handling of the theme of the study tour, “National Security and Youth Empowerment” and for the warm reception he gave to the staff and students of Senior Course 40 from the institution while on a courtesy call on his Information Ministry.
Acknowledging that, the presentation by the Commissioner for Information imparted great knowledge on the students and enriched their research work, the letter emphasized that, the visit to Ministry of Information and Strategy afforded the participants the opportunity to gain in-depth insight into the landmark achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel in Youth development and empowerment which are very critical in stability and national security.
The institution prayed that Charles Udoh will continue to receive divine wisdom and guidance as he pilots the affairs of the Information Ministry.
It should be recalled that during the courtesy call on the Commissioner for Information and Strategy by the team on 30th November 2017, he had said the discourse on national security and youth empowerment was very critical in a fledging democratic setting such as ours, which therefore made the theme very timely and expedient.
Udoh said as an integral part of the nation, Akwa Ibom State has contributed immensely towards national security and youth empowerment, stressing that the Udom Emmanuel-led government has gainfully employed the youths to keep them away from all acts of criminality usually perpetrated by the unemployed capable of threatening national security and enlisted such acts to include drug addiction, robbery, assassination, thuggery, rape, kidnapping, arson, rituals etc.
The Information Boss enumerated the transformational strides of the present administration in youth empowerment to include training of over 20,000 youths across the state in various vocational skills, including training of 3000 youths on digital marketing in collaboration with Google, training of 1000 youths on ICT in partnership with Rocky Feller Foundation and training of 1000 unemployed young graduates on Oracle Data Base administration.
Others are training of 1000 youths on fashion design and clothing, training of 450 youths on Cocoa maintenance and processing, training of 2,308 Youths from Uyo senatorial district on different skills, provision of empowerment facilities to 2,016 Youths from Eket senatorial districts on various vocational ventures and skills acquisition for 1,461 Youths from Ikot Ekpene senatorial district among others.
The courtesy call that day had featured presentation of different publications of the Ministry to the visiting team by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Mr. Charles Udoh.
