He added that bills, which had been assented to by the governor are fundamental to the growth and development of the state. “In all, the 8th assembly successfully passed a total of 31 bills in the last four years.

“These bills will surely lift the history of the state, because they are so fundamental to the path of driving good governance to the people," he said.

He also commended the cordial relationship the house enjoyed with the executive arm in the state, and urged that same gesture be accorded the incoming 9th assembly.

Madaki, however, decried paucity of funds in the assembly, which according to him, hindered performance of legislative functions optimally.

“One thing I will urge the executive arm is to ensure timely release of funds to the incoming assembly to enable it carry out its functions diligently.

NAN reports that a valedictory session to end the tenure of the 8th assembly will hold on Thursday.

Southwest group Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum has accused ex-Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo of trying to blackmail Nigerians with his Fulanisation, Islamisation claim.

The group noted admittedly that while there are security challenges across the country involving the Fulani folk, it is wrong to give it such an interpretation.

Yoruba Ronu says it is clear that land displacements and reprisals are largely responsible for the scuffles the Fulanis have been involved in Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has come under fire afresh from a southwest group Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum which has accused him of crying wolf when there is none over alleged gradual Fulanisation and Islamisation of Nigeria.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Forum discarded Obasanjo's alarm saying on Wednesday, June 5 that land displacements and reprisals are responsible for Fulani-related clashes in northern Nigeria.

President of the Forum, Akin Malaolu, said in a statement it is totally wrong to give it religious or ethnic colouration.

“We can say succinctly that former president Obasanjo was deliberately deceitful and in greater dishonesty in his phantom claim.

”History which relied on facts and evidences are both missing in his conjectures. Modern generation of our youths and some elders may not understand that the North experienced two eras that shaped their entire land.

“The system of government before the advent of jihad was a period of prosperity that made it possible for slaves to rise through various tasks including the military,

”But with their conquest, the system of administration changed drastically and weakened the slaves and to their offspring.

“History recorded the events that gave the Fulani people a space in modern day Nigeria and their foothold in the North came through conquest beginning from 1808 [211 years ago]"

Obasanjo said this in a keynote address at the 2019 Synod of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), held in Oleh, Isoko South council area of Delta state.

He spoke on the topic ‘Mobilizing Nigeria’s human and natural resources for national development and stability.’

NBC threatens AIT over ‘anti-government reports’

NBC threatens AIT over ?anti-government reports? (Photos)

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has threatened to move against African Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower FM over some reports it considered unfavourable.

The regulatory body accused the broadcast stations of airing “offensive, unfair and unprofessional” content in violation of its rules.

In three letters made availbale to media houses, Armstrong Idachaba, the commission’s director of broadcast monitoring, asked AIT and RayPower to state why they should not be sanctioned over the issues raised.
“The continued use of your licence (given in trust to you on behalf of the entire Nigerian people), to embark on attacks and vilification of the regulator shall attract appropriate sanctions going forward,” he wrote.
In one of the letters, Idachaba alleged that the stations had the motive of inciting the public against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the government.
“Monitoring reports on AIT and Ray Power FM indicate that a news commentary replete with unfair allegations against the judiciary was aired from Monday, 20th May, 2019.
This commentary was aired on the two stations during the week. The broadcast is a contravention of the provisions of the Code and extant laws regarding discussion of cases pending in the law courts which could be termed as contempt of court.
“Furthermore, the language used was -offensive and unfair on the judiciary. The broadcast is viewed as offensive, unfair and unprofessional, as provisions of Section 1.15.1 of The Nigerian Broadcasting Code was violated” the letter read.
In a letter May 27, NBC wondered the motive behind the documentary: “Nigeria Judiciary on Trial: Lessons from Kenya”. It said INEC was unfairly accused of refusing to make its server public because it doctored the result of the elections. NBC gave the stations until May 31 to respond to its queries or risk disciplinary actions.  In another letter dated May 27, NBC complained about the use of content generated on social media on Kakaaki, a breakfast programme on AIT.

It cited many instances where “inciting words” were used and how social media users fanned the embers of discord. “Your station is by this letter advised to be cautious when discussing issues relating to matters pending in the Court of law and refrain from use of language inimical to the broadcast profession,” it said.

Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications, owners of AIT and RayPower, is currently under investigation over N2.1 billion he allegedly collected from Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser.  Although, Dokpesi has denied the allegations levelled against him, describing his trial as a witch-hunt, government agencies are still going after the businessman.  Two months ago, his passport was seized when he returned to the country after a medical trip to Dubai. He was also detained for hours.

7-years after, Levi Ajuonuma's son Dj Obi pays glowing tribute to his dad who died in a plane crash

7-years after,?Levi Ajuonuma

Its been seven years since Levi Ajuonuma, a media personality and the former Group General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Public Affairs Division died in the Dana air crash that killed 153 passengers on June 3rd 2012.

His son, DJ Obi took to his Instagram page tonight to share some powerful words as he remembers his father who was deeply loved by many.

See what he wrote below...
I was such a knuckle head, took so long to finish with school. And just when it happened, BOOM! Two weeks after you were gone.

To everyone reading this that still have their parents around. Hug them a lil tighter and longer.

To the families that lost loved ones on the Dana crash, we all know now that it never really gets easy, it never really goes away. But we thank God for the memories we have that keep us going.

To the new imo state governor Emeka Ihedioha . We rooted hard for you, so please do us a solid favor and remove our state name from those aircrafts. We can not and should not associate with such.

Growing into an adult has helped me understand how fickle the concept of time is. You can’t promise what you don’t have, so i can’t give you forever. 7 years already and it almost feels brand new, sometimes i intentionally fall asleep hoping to see you and talk. If only it were that easy. The next generation has kicked off already. I hope to some extent you are proud of how we have been able to make it thru, cause i aint gonna lie, it’s been hard.

I MISS YOU DAD. The legendary DR. LEVI C AJUONUMA..... R.I.P

Tremendous crowds of well wishers and people that love our Country. Haven’t seen any protests yet, but I’m sure the fake news will be working hard to find them. Great love all around. Also, big Trade Deal is possible once U.K. gets rid of the shackles. Already starting to talk!'
Shortly afterwards, he appeared next to Queen Elizabeth in full white tie. Melania opted for a custom Dior Couture gown with matching white gloves.

Her Majesty has stood as a symbol of these provisions. On behalf of all Americans I offer a toast to the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations and truly remarkable reign of Her Majesty the Queen,' Trump said.

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte claims he used to be gay but 'cured himself' with beautiful women

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has revealed that he used to be gay but 'cured himself' with beautiful women

The 74-year-old made this known as he spoke to a crowd in Japan on Thursday.
He began his speech on by telling the crowd his critic Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was 'similar' to him because they were both gay. But, he said, he had actually been 'cured' by beautiful women and 'became a man again' when he married his first wife Elizabeth Zimmerman, according to CNN Philipines.

As he started his speech in front of the Filipino community in Japan, Duterte invited three attractive women standing at the side of the room to take empty seats at the front.

He went on to say someone gay had told him that based on the senator's movements, his critic Trillanes is homosexual, Rappler reported.
'I said, "Are you sure?" They said, "You ask any gay person who sees Trillanes move, they'll say he's gay." No wonder. Good thing Trillanes and I are similar. But I cured myself,' he said.
He added: 'When I began a relationship with Zimmerman, I said, this is it. I became a man again.'

President Duterte was married to Elizabeth Zimmerman, 71, from 1973 until 2000 and they had two children together. During his outing in Japan, it was his long-term girlfriend Honeylet Avanceña, 49, who accompanied him to the event where he invited four women on stage to receive a kiss on the cheek.

As he invited them up he explained he was only looking for unmarried women of an appropriate age.

He said: 'First you shouldn't be married okay. Second, you are not a minor. You ma'am. You want a smooch? Those four come here. Let them come up. Let them in.'

He also professed his love for Ms Avanceña, calling her his 'one and only'.
